Welcome to the SCAN-LAB
My research passion focuses on studying the processing of social cognitive and affective information.
I am particularly interested in the study of the behavioral and brain responses when individuals process emotionally and socially loaded stimuli.
I study social cognitive constructs such as empathy, vicarious ostracism, prosocial behavior, theory of mind and facial affect recognition using clinical, experimental and neuroscience techniques.
By studying how healthy individuals process social affective information, we are then able to better understand disorders with deficits on the processing of social and affective information such as in individuals with Schizophrenia and Autism Spectrum Disorders.
